I'm Arden Vald.
I started my career as a psychologist studying the mechanisms of perception, the influence of archetypes and mythology on society and the psychology of art. Soon art became my passion, I went to University of the Arts London, and started my creative career: I became an art director in motion pictures and video installations. After working in creative agencies for several years, I realized that I am ready to speak my own language: I wanted to create worlds. Combinations of sensations that create separate casts of eternity.
I rarely want to fix the visible or audible separately - I want to stop the very course of events, expressing the inner mythology and psychology of the moment. There may be nothing remarkable about a street at night for example, but everything together - with streetlights, the weight of rain in the air, noise of the city, my own feeling and state at a particular moment in time creates its own universe, existing in this limited space of the moment. One of the parts of creativity for me is to collect these fragments of eternity.
The second part is alchemy. The moment when these fragments are connected with my thoughts, ideas and visions, are transformed into something new, separating from me and finding their own life. When I create an artwork, we have a conversation, creating something together. And the thing that arises between me and the artwork is magic. For me, it is an artifact, a portal leading to another world.
