THE COURT
The series consists of seven portraits - seven symbolic figures of my memory. These people are the protagonists of a deep layer of my past. Seven stories of incredible coincidences, betrayals, miracles, disappointments and reflection.
Each portrait has a metaphorical title that hints at the character of the person. Some of them stayed in my life, some disappeared forever, but all left their mark. These faces are not just people, but how I remember them, how I see them with my inner vision. What they are without embellishment, and how their eyes reflect what they lived and live by. In these faces - the imprint of what is associated with them in me, and how my personal experience was shaped. It's not about people, but about who we become after communicating with them. People change (sometimes), but memory doesn't.
THE CROWNS
Each portrait is crowned - this is my personal royal court. The abstract crown appeared in the first portrait by accident, in the process of searching, but I supported the idea, which appeared in the dialogue with the painting. The crowns convey the nature of the experiences associated with a person with the texture and direction of the strokes, and they continue as the theme of the background of the portrait. Randomness has become a symbol.
THE THERAPY
The very process of working on portraits has become a form of personal psychotherapy for me. Psychology is my first profession, and its world will remain close and familiar to me forever. Each portrait became a living of what happened anew with a new understanding. The final touch and signature became the moment of catharsis, the final acceptance and liberation, when memory from a living entity turns into history. No, feelings do not die and are not forgotten. But they become part of the past, which, although it will remain forever, will no longer define the present.
